The End

I started this blog 1,896 blogposts ago on Bastille Day, July 14, 2020.

In July I moved out of The Summit and out of South Carolina.

I wish you, the homeowners and Members, good luck in regaining control of your HOA. I wish I thought you weren’t going to need it.

Study Your Board Candidates - Linda Potter

Contact your "recognized Voting Member" and ask him/her to elect only directors who are  of the highest caliber,   selected for interpersonal skills, dedicat(ed) to the betterment of our Association and community, and  free of any personal agenda. (Source: HOA Mission Statement, Nominating Committee) OK, let's look at the eight candidates, one by one. Eighth, Linda Potter Linda is a homeowner in the Founders Ridge neighborhood. She was elected to the Board on November 7, 2023. Linda served as Board Treasurer from November 2023 to November 2024.  For the most part, Linda's participation in Board meetings was to present motions for items for which the Board had to authorize spending. As I recall, she played an important role in moving HOA funds from low-interest accounts (0.05% and 0.75%) to market-rate interest, substantially increasing the interest earnings on that money. There were few reports, if any, about the status of the finances of the Association. Linda ...

M.H.G.A. - Make HOA Great Again!

Homeowners and Residents in The Summit can look forward to positive changes in how the HOA is run.  It's my feeling that homeowners (Members) and Residents will experience a new era of Respect that hasn't been here for a long time.  Allow your new Board a "honeymoon" period. The new leadership of the Association (meaning the officers on the Board of Directors) will be hard at work to get a handle on everything that is wrong and to begin fixing it. It won't happen overnight. Be sure to welcome Brenda Bryant, Jeff Lummel, Linda Potter, and Angelo Turley-Moore to their new roles as President, Vice-President, Treasurer,  and Secretary, respectively. If you have something to share with them or a request, I suggest you email it to the Property Manager for The Summit's HOA. Send it to SummitHelpDesk@tcgrd.com . If you want your message to go to a particular officer or Board Member or distributed to all of them, say so in the first line. Same for messages you intend f...

Mess-up with December 2nd Board Meeting

The December Board Meeting will be held tonight at 6:30PM in the HOA's office at 305 Ridge Trail Drive. Due to very limited space, tonight's meeting attendance will be limited to Board members and Voting Members. The Minutes of the November 18th Board Meeting have not been published yet, but apparently there was an attempt by some of the directors to change the Board Meeting frequency from monthly to not-less-than-quarterly. This is yet another reason why officers should have been elected at the first board meeting following the Annual Meeting of Voting Members, which was the Board Meeting on November 18th. This meeting-night mess would not have happened. It's hard enough to Members (homeowners) to know what is really going on with their HOA. The four elected directors (Brenda Bryant, Jeff Lummel, Linda Potter, and Angelo Turley-Moore) want monthly meetings to continue. They welcome the homeowner participation at monthly meetings. The other three directors (Tanisha Holmes, ...
