Amendment 10. NextDoor

There is an active discussion about Amendment 10 starting on NextDoor. Be sure to weigh in.

First of all, the HOA should be telling the truth to Members (homeowners). Members do not vote on the proposed Amendments. It's the Voting Members who vote on them.

According to the HOA, there are now eight bonafied Voting Members. There should be 28. For years, there was none. Then there was one. Now seven more in the past month (if those Neighborhood Meetings were legitimate).

On NextDoor, Renee B. re-stated Proposed Amendment 10. She didn't "explain" it. What she did do was copy and paste it into NextDoor.

It is a terrible Amendment. Why should Buyers be penalized for failures of past Boards of Directors? No Buyer is going to pay that. A savvy Buyer will demand that the Seller take the hit on the $1,000.

Plus that proposed amendment opens the door for increases voted by the Board! Do you want only four people (a majority on the Board) to make a decision for 2,480 Members?

In recent years the HOA reduced Contributions to Reserves but did not reduce the dues (Annual Assessments). The Boards knew that costs were going up and should have increased the dues. But they didn't. That was fiscally irresponsible.

In 2020 the Contribution to Reserves (Line 8000) was $163,965 on paper. How much of that money actually reached Reserves?

In 2024 the Contribution to Reserves was $0.00. That's right. ZERO!

In 2025 the Contribution to Reserves was only $3,000.

Homeowners: tell your Voting Members to vote No. Every Voting Member should vote NO on Amendment 10.
