The sign is gone

Sometime yesterday the HOA picked up the Black Voices Matter sign off "their" property in the Lakes of Barony Place.

It took a while, but they must have finally accepted that the vacant wedge of property at what would be 202 Barony Place Circle, if it had an address, really is their property.

And it turns out that it's not just a wedge of property fronting on Barony Place Drive.

This morning I found the right page of Richland County Real Property records online for that parcel, and it turns out that the deed for the parcel was recorded on October 12, 2018, transferring the deed to The Summit Association from Lakes at Barony Development.

Blogger won't allow an upload of a .pdf. If you are interested in viewing the plat, go to Richland County Property Tax Records search and use the field (far right) labeled "Property Tax Map Number". Enter this Tax Map Number: R231076-10-10

Why there was all the run-around about their "contacting the owner", I'll never understand. Is it possible that the president of the Association and the property manager had forgotten the acquisition of that parcel? Maybe so, since the lot doesn't appear to be maintained. So far I've only seen the front of the property. Tomorrow I'll get a look at the land between the rows of backyards.
