Is anyone watching?

Homeowners, be sure to read the Minutes of the February 1, 2022 Board Meeting. Are they accurate?

Note that the Board quickly approved the Minutes of the December 7, 2021 Meeting. Did the board actually consider a Motion to approve the Minutes and vote to approve them? Or did Justin just state that the Minutes of the December 7th meeting are approved?

Should there have been a statement that no board meeting was held in January 2022 and an explanation of why no meeting was held?

Should the error in the December Minutes have been corrected, where it stated that "The board approved the minutes of the November 9, 2021 Board of Directors meeting at 6:34pm" That statement is false. The board did not approve the Minutes. Justin stated that the Minutes were approved. There was no vote by the board to approve them. That happens every month.

At the December 7th meeting there was no mention by the Finance Committee of the status of the 2022 Budget. The Treasurer, Vernell Butler, failed to inform the Board that the Budget was not finished and did not inform the Board when the 2022 Budget would be finished.

The December 7th Minutes include Justin Martin's statement that officers were voted on at the pre-board meeting (end of November). Officers should be elected in the public Board Meetings, not in the private, secret, non-public, "pre-board" meetings. Yet no Board Member or Voting Member ever questions such impropriety.

The February 1st Minutes included a Finance Committee statement by Vernell Butler, Treasurer, that the HOA is seeking quotes from CPAs for tax preparation and audit. Is the HOA a non-profit, tax-exempt organization? Is it eligible for Federal and State tax-free status, if it does not hold that status now? If so, there won't be any "tax preparation". A Federal Form 990 Information Return might be required, but not a "tax" return.

The 2021 Proposed Budget (the latest shown on the website) includes NO money for Federal Tax and NO money for SC Tax.

Minutes of the February 1, 2022 reflect NO STATEMENT by Treasurer Vernell Butler about the 2022 Budget. Apparently, no board members questioned the Treasurer about the 2022 Budget.

The Neighborhood Committee, chaired by Jesse McClinton, held a Zoom meeting with "only a few voting members in attendance." A few, out of 28? Maybe four? Did calling a Zoom meeting only 12 hours before the starting time have something to do with poor attendance?

Pay close attention to the statement in the Minutes that the Board approved Contracts in December 2021 and January 2022. Those contracts totalled $493,174.20!

NOTE: There was no meeting in January. The Board spent $493,000+ of Association money in two months through decisions made OUT of public view.
