May Board Meeting canceled. WHAT inclement weather?

The May HOA Board meeting was canceled today at 4:38PM. Of course, it could have been canceled this morning or even yesterday.

Inclement weather? Who is kidding whom? Where? Oklahoma? Tornadoes in Kansas? Not in Columbia!

Read this message clearly. Did the President of the HOA actually write that?

Tonight's BOD of directors meeting will be canceled for inclement weather.

The Board is sad to announce the passing of Paul Hill. Paul's name is synonymous with The Summit. Him and Pat have been integral in the successful operation of The Summit for more years that I've lived here. His years of service and knowledge of the community will be deeply missed. There will be a Celebration of Life held for Paul and his family at Magnolia Pool on Saturday, May 7 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The BOD meeting will be rescheduled next week. The BOD will go into executive session tomorrow evening to discuss the distribution of duties and the next steps for the opening in the Board of Directors.

Thank you,

Justin Martin

President, Summit HOA

With no disrespect meant to Paul, look at this message.

There is NO INCLEMENT WEATHER today.

What is the "BOD of directors"?

The meeting will be canceled? OK, when will it be canceled?

"Him and Pat have been .." Seriously? That's an error that a third-grader shouldn't make. Why is there a change in font and font-size?

So the Board canceled tonight's meeting, but it will meet tomorrow night in "executive session"? You mean, in private, secret session out of view of the Members (homeowners) of the HOA who kick in $1¼ Million each year? Tomorrow's meeting should be open to all Members (homeowners).

Exactly the same steps should be followed as should have been followed last year after George Reynolds died. 1. Declare the vacancy on the board. 2. Select and appoint a successor to serve the remainder of the unexpired term of 19 months. The By-Laws are quite clear.

There is not just one opening on the board. There are two! The vacancy on the board created by George Reynolds' death has never been properly filled.

Distribute Paul's duties? Paul had already been demoted by Justin. In December he was appointed by Justin to be co-chair of the Finance Committee, but then the Scoop and the HOA website quickly showed Vernell as Chair of that committee and Paul as co-chair.

Apparently, no one on the Board has the ability to recognize that, if one person is the Chair of a committee, then a second person cannot be "co-chair". They are both co-chairs. Or the second person is the assistant chair. These are the people who are managing $1¼ Millions of your money! Are you sleeping well at night?

Who wrote the pitiful excuse for an announcement? Since Justin's name is under it, did he write it?

"Him and Pat..."? Who wrote that?
