NextDoor Thread gone after Vernell Butler comments

A lengthy thread titled "Summit HOA" was deleted from the NextDoor app sometime earlier today.

There were probably 100 comments, including a few snarky ones from Vernell Butler, Board Member and Treasurer for the Summit's HOA.

One comment about the March 1st board decision (without vote) to prohibit Homeowners from attending board meetings, except by invitation, from Vernell was posted at 7:28am today began with "our meetings are closed to gus".

They are not only closed to me; they are closed to ALL residents and, now, to ALL Homeowners, except by invitation. Are board meetings now private parties?

Vernell also posted at 7:32am today: "Gus Philpott get your doctoral like me then talk to me about reading comprehension. Pick an argument you can win. I am not ..." His message was probably continued on NextDoor, but the thread has been deleted.

At about 8:38am today Vernell posted: "Greg and Rhonda Richards to be clear sir, I have given said individual multiple opportunities to present issues of concern, his... "

That prompted me to email Vernell to remind him that he has never given me any opportunity to present issues of concern. He has repeatedly warned me not to contact him and has threatened to sic his lawyer on me.

As Treasurer of the HOA, Vernell is an officer of the HOA and has a fidiciary responsibility to comply with the CC&Rs, including the By-Laws. As an officer of the board, a member of the leadership team of the board, he should be familiar with the By-Laws and be among the first to call attention of the board to areas where the Board is failing to comply with the By-Laws.

Ex., the board has never filled the board vacancy that resulted from George Reynold's death in April, 2021.

Ex., the board conducted an election in November 2021 for five (5) directors, not the four (4) called for in the official documents of the HOA.

The board did not approve the 2022 Final Budget until March 1, 2022 - two full months into the new year. Apparently, no board member asked why so many line items were unchanged from last year.
