Could the Financial Condition Be THAT Bad?

Just how bad could the financial condition of the HOA be?

The Board of Directors has failed to publish the monthly Financial Operating Results on the HOA's website since August 2025.

The Results have not been posted for September 2025, October 2025, November 2025, December 2025, January 2026, and February 2026. 

The March 2026 Results should be available at the May 5, 2026 Board Meeting. You can get a copy there, if you arrive early enough. They should have been posted by then on the website, so you would have time to study them and ask questions.

Is the Board hiding adverse financial information by not posting them on the HOA's website in a timely manner?

If the Board offers an explanation for its failure to post Results, I shall be happy to publish it here.

June 3rd BOD Meeting now Closed to Members

The HOA office sent out an email at 3:29PM that read, in part, Due to Brookland Baptist Church being unavailable to accommodate the scheduled Board of Directors meeting on June 3rd, the meeting will now be held at the Summit Association office. Please note that space is limited at this location; therefore, only Voting Members and Committee Chairs will be invited to attend in person. What Story Do the Financials Tell?

At the May 6, 2025 Board of Directors meeting, the March Financial Operating Results were available. Did you pick up a copy? Was there any discussion of them? Usually there is not. Do board members examine them before the meeting? Does anyone on the Board really understand them?  Look at the page for the Operating Expenses - Variances. Twelve Line Items are shown. No totals are shown. Big mistake. But are the totals intentionally omitted? For these 12 Items the total of "YTD Variances" is $61,784.93. As of the end of March, the HOA has over-spent the 2025 Budget by $61,784.93. Look at the reason given for the over-spending in Line Item GL-5111 Irrigation Contract. "This is over budget and will remain over budget due to the 2025 budget is $75,000 and the monthly contracted cost is $10,140." And They Are Still MIA

What are still MIA? February 2025 Financial Operating Results; April 2025 Financial Operating Results; March 2025 Financial Operating Results. Minutes of the 5/6/2025 Board of Directors (BOD) Meeting. Why haven't these been published on the HOA's website?  And where are the Internal Forensic Audit for 2023 and the External Forensic Audit for 2023? Where is the 2024 Annual Audit? Soon the Minutes of the 6/3/2025 BOD Meeting should be making their appearance. Or will they? What has changed in the Board's unwritten policy for informing 2,480 Members of the HOA about the Association's finances and monthly meetings? For years these documents were posted on the HOA's website. Not always on a timely basis, but they were posted.  And now??? The Voting Members should be complaining on behalf of their Neighborhood's homeowners. Are they? And, if they are not, the homeowners themselves ought to be complaining and demanding an explanation.
