Winner of Management Contract
Did the HOA put out a RFP for management bids? Who wrote the RFP? How many were sent out?
How many bidders were there? Who received the bids? Were they held unopened until the Bid Opening Date? Were they opened by the Contracts Committee?
How many bidders were there? Were any bidders interviewed?
Did one large management company fly representatives into Columbia twice to meet with the Board of Directors to present and discuss its services?
Did Danny attend both of those meetings? Did Danny attend either of those meetings? Shouldn't the President of the Board of Directors have been at both of those meetings? Was he?
Had Danny already decided which company he wanted? Regardless of services and price?
Did the chairperson of the Contracts Committee, Director Brenda Bryant, present the bids at the September 2nd Regular Monthly Meeting of the Board? Did the Contracts Committee make a recommendation?
How did the Board choose Town & Country, a Greenwood, S.C. business? Who is Julie Brickley, whose name was mentioned in the email from the office about the transition to a new management company? What is her experience in managing a large HOA with 2,480 properties?
On September 5, 2025 the office announced by email that "Your Association will transition to new management effective 9.30.25."
When did the Board vote on the new management contract? It didn't happen at the August 2025 or the September 2025 Board Meeting. Did they decide in a private, closed, secret meeting? What was the vote? Was it 5-2?
The Minutes of the September 2, 2025 Board Meeting do not reflect any discussion or vote by the Board. Did the Board decide behind closed doors on a contract that could cost the HOA $500,000/year?
The September 1, 2025 Minutes include a report from the Contracts Committee that three contracts were signed in August. One of them was with Town & Country Management company [sic].
Why is the Contracts Committee reporting that a contract was signed? Signed by whom? What are the terms of the contract? What is the cost?
THE CONTRACTS COMMITTEE IS NOT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS!
