Board Reaction to Crowded April 1 BOD Meeting

You might want to print and save the April 10, 2025 9:39AM email from the HOA office that announces a new restriction on monthly HOA Board meetings.

"Summit HOA Board of Directors" sincerely announces ...

"Effective immediately a current Summit ID, is required to attend the board meetings and they will be checked prior to entering. Also, please note that the board meeting is open to Summit HOA Homeowners only. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we try to make our meetings more efficient.

"Have a great day!"

The "Have a great day!" is a nice touch, isn't it?

Make board meetings "more efficient"? You mean, silence opinions that don't agree with the board?

For many years the Summit Scoop has proclaimed "Board meetings are open to all Summit Residents." There was short period 3-4 years ago when "residents" was changed to "homeowners", but it was changed back.

Is this announcement by fiat, rather than Board decision? Did anyone hear it discussed and voted on by the entire board on April 1? Maybe it was; I wasn't there. I've bee3n told that it wasn't discussed and was not voted on.

Apparently, it wasn't sufficient just to ban me through a TRO, sought and paid for by the HOA (meaning, you who pay the dues). Now "they" want to ban all non-homeowner residents.

Didn't this board start out with a cry for inclusion and transparency? Aren't residents a valuable part of the Summit community? Apparently not.

If this was approved by a majority on the Board, who voted for it? Will the Minutes of the April 1st meeting reflect that decision? Should those directors get the boot at the next election? If there were enough legitimate Voting Members (there aren't), they could meet sooner than November and remove directors.

If the board did not vote to approve this change, then the email from the office should not have been signed "Summit HOA Board of Directors". There is no accountability for the decision, if somebody on the board told the office to send out that email.

Send an email to the office and ask exactly how and when "the board" made that decision. Send your email to HOA@summithomeowners.com

Since elections of board members for many past years have not complied with the By-Laws, are any of the Board members even legitimate? Or are they usurpers, imposters, people who are holding office even though they were elected by people who were not eligible to vote?

Remember, the Board could decide to prohibit MEMBERS (you) from attending Board Meetings. If the Board limited attendance to themselves and to legitimate Voting Members, only they and one (1) Voting Member would attend. Barony Place has the only legitimate Voting Member, duly-elected at a bonafide Neighborhood Meeting on May 4, 2024.
