Did You Attend the 4/1/25 BOD Meeting?

If you attended the April 1st Board of Directors meeting, you got a good dose of the HOA's "leadership". How did you like it?

Now is the time for you to join forces. Get in touch with all the people who were there. Exchange names and contact information. Stay in touch. Gather together. Learn more about your HOA.

Look at the list of "Voting Members" in The Summit Scoop. Those are the homeowners responsible for the people who were sitting at the front of the room, the directors.

Those "Voting Members" are supposed to represent you, the homeowners. Did they, when they elected directors in November 2024 and November 2023. A few of the "Voting Members" are new.

Only one of the Voting Members is legitimate; that is, duly-elected.

Get busy and elect a Voting Member from your neighborhood who will actually represent you.

The Voting Members must do more than just show up once a year and vote. They should be paying attention!

When they see someone on the Board who is not serving the interests of the Members well, they should remove him. They have that power. They almost never exercise it.

In the By-Laws, Art. III, §A, ¶7 provides for the Removal of Directors and Vacancies. (Page 5 (the page number in the Table of Contents is wrong.))

This reads, in part, "Any director elected by the Voting Members may be removed, with or without cause, by the vote of Voting Members holding a majority of the votes entitled to be cast for the [sic] of such director." (The error in the sentence is in the website version.)

In the past, and perhaps it is still true, too many of the "Voting Members" have been buddies of the directors they elected. So they haven't paid attention to how the directors conducted business.

Now is the time to change this.Any director elected by the Voting Members may be removed, with or without cause, by the vote of Voting Members holding a majority of the votes entitled to be cast for the of such director.
