Summit Scoop - new format
Check out the new format of The Summit Scoop. The February 2026 issue displays a completely different look. You'll find it at www.summithomeowners.com/february2026
You can also find it (and past editions) on the HOA's website. Go to the homepage, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on RECENT NEWS.*
The list of Committees has been updated. It now includes the names of the chairpersons and the current members of most committees.
Several important committees are without chairmen and members: Neighborhood Committee, Nominating Committee, Projects Committee, Youth Committee.
The Newsletter Committee is missing from the list, and it too lacks a chairperson (who should not be an office employee, as it was in the past).
The Neighborhood and Nominating Committees are absolutely essential. Their duties are among the most important in the Association. Each must be conducted in compliance with the By-Laws, which has been a major problem for this Association for more than six years.
It's unfortunate that the February Scoop did not include the February Report from the President. The January President's Report is old news. The February Scoop was distributed on February 12, more than a week after the February Board meeting, and could easily have included a current report.
The February Board meeting was chaotic, as the January meeting must have been. I mean, it was Bad. When Public Participation was opened, the meeting quickly spiraled out of control, and control was never regained.
The Board, as a whole, should determine what it to be done about the chaos, along with who will control it and how it will be controlled. There is no excuse whatsoever for Board meetings to dissolve into disorder and chaos.
* I have suggested to the Board that RECENT NEWS should be changed to SUMMIT SCOOP. Perhaps someone else will suggest this, so that they will consider it.
