Board Fails to Remove Pollin

Why has the Board of Directors failed to remove Patricia Pollin from a seat on the board?

Every board member - all seven - know that she is not eligible to be a board member. Even the two new directors (improperly appointed) should know that. The new ones should have been updated by the Board President and the other board members, so that they wouldn't get blind-sided in the future.

Pollin was appointed to the Board in November 2023. At the time she was vetted by the CAMS Property Manager, she was not eligible to be appointed to the Board.

A candidate for appointment as a successor director must 1) be a Member of the Association (i.e., be a homeowner-of-record (name on the Deed)) or 2) be the spouse of a Member.

Pollin was neither.

Pollin's late husband was the sole owner of their home. According to Richland County online records, the house is still in his name. He died in 2021.

Pollin is the widow of a Member, not the spouse.

When the vote on Pollin's appointment was taken (if there was a vote, it was done in private; not at a Regular Board Meeting), several board members were not told the result of the vetting procedure.

Did the Board President know that Pollin was not eligible? Did he fail to inform all Board members? Why didn't the Property Manager inform all Board members? ) This is not a rhetorical question. A Memo to all, in writing, would have been the correct procedure!

Why is the Board dragging its feet on removing Pollin? Will they just run out the clock on the term to which she was improperly appointed, which ends November 4, 2025?
