Coming soon - new signing

There will be new signing soon for two intersections near The Summit.

With the completion of paving on Hard Scrabble Road at Summit Parkway and Lee Road (at Publix), traffic signals and road signing for double-left turns will be added.

Drivers have already started making double-left turns on westbound Summit Parkway and eastbound Lee Road. The roadway is wide enough, but it's illegal to do so without signing.

Your chances of getting caught and getting a ticket? Somewhere between slim and none.

If you are southbound on Hard Scrabble in the left-turn lane at Lee Road, you'll get a Left Arrow. If you make your left turn and are not in a 4x4, you are likely to need a tow truck and some front-end work. The entrance to the new shopping area hasn't been paved!

Speed limits? Who knows? The contractor will be installing speed limit signs in the near future. It's probably 40MPH southbound from north of Rice Meadow Way (see the sign?) to about four blocks south of Clemson Road, where there is still a temporary 45MPH sign. This would mean 40MPH northbound in the same stretch of roadway.

Hopefully, after new speed limit signs are installed, drivers will pay attention to them. Is this a lost hope?
