Advice to the Property Manager
Last fall I was in the HOA's office and offered some advice to the Property Manager. I had fought through the "red tape" for access to a document, and the HOA had finally yielded.
I suggested she keep a private notebook off the premises and record every time she was asked to do something that wasn't right and every time she was told not to do something that was right, should such circumstances arise. I suggested she might need those notes at some future time.
That was before the HOA sued me (December 28, 2024).
That was before the judge ordered me not to communicate with the office staff (March 11, 2025).
That was before I learned what had happened in November 2023.
That was before I learned that there was a person on the board of directors who was not eligible or qualified to serve on the board.
I hope she kept that notebook and that she has recorded notes of events as they happened and also notes of situations that happened previously.
I believed, even then, that the Property Manager was in a "Catch-22" situation. I believed she would try hard to do what was right and also that she wanted to keep her job.
Would she have the "intestinal fortitude" to stand up to a board member and say, "That's wrong, and I'm not going to do it"? The next phone call to her might be from CAMS, telling her that they were transferring her to Timbuktu.
When the HOA's lawsuit against me comes to trial, that Property Manager will be called to testify, whether or not she still works at The Summit's HOA or for CAMS.
