Ever cut through Food Lion or Lidl?

Have you ever cut through Food Lion to avoid a long line of traffic waiting on the light at Summit Parkway and Hard Scrabble Road?

Or cut through Lidl to avoid a long line of stopped traffic on northbound Hard Scrabble Road?

Read this section of Richland County ordinances. Is it worth it?

Sec. 17-12. Driving across public or private property in order to evade traffic control device.
   (a)   It shall be unlawful for any person operating a motor vehicle to use public or private property, not recognized as a roadway or thoroughfare, with the intention or purpose of avoiding a traffic signal or sign.
   (b)   Any person who violates this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not more than $500 or be imprisoned for not more than 30 days.
(Ord. No. 054-06HR, § I, 6-6-06)
