10/3/23 HOA Board Meeting
More than 50 people showed up for tonight's Zoom meeting.
Everything went along really well, until it didn't.
Justin lost control when Jesse McClinton and Dennis Rybicki went at it. People just unmuted themselves and chimed in. With 3-4 people talking at the same, nobody heard anything!
If the meetings continue on Zoom, the board and committee chairmen should be furnished headsets and told to use them. The audio will improve 250%.
And the president and Angela should learn how to mute people who talk over one another.
Many of the committee reports were short and sweet. Auby took the record; over 6 minutes.
The board just killed the Special Duty Agreement with RCSD. Dennis Rybicki brought up that they are now considering some private security deal "for the common properties." Seriously?
Vernell didn't have anything important to say about the finances. The financials may have been sent out too late for board members to review them. No mention of the budget. No mention of the management contract.
Mike Bryant asked Jesse McClinton about a meeting of Voting Members. Jesse doesn't have a clue about the duties of the board's Neighborhood Committee. The last meeting of the Voting Members was November 1, 2022, and the next meeting is November 7. Dennis asked Jesse some questions, and he got no answers. Jesse said there are six on his committee, and they going to take ideas to the Voting Members. Jesse has it backwards. And then Justin shut down discussion.
Contracts Committee report. No mention of the management contract. I had expected a board vote tonight. The next board meeting is not until November 7.
Will the board hold a secret, private, closed board meeting to vote on awarding the management contract for 2024? I understand that CAMS is not the sole bidder. Why wasn't this discussing tonight - in front of the Members??? Grab your wallets, folks!
