Board will pick prop. mgt. co. for 2024

At tomorrow night's (October 3) HOA board meeting, the board is likely to select the property management company for 2024.

If you were at the August 8th board meeting, you heard a Voting Member ask about the integrity of the bid-opening process. The Minutes incorrectly identified the person asking the question as a homeowner; he is a Voting Member.

That question takes on more importance when asked by a Voting Member. And what he got in the way of an answer was hot air.

How many responses had been received by August 8? Who got them? Were they held unopened?

How many responses, in all, did the Association receive to its RFP? To whom were those responses addressed?

When was the bid-opening date? Were all the bids still sealed, when the meeting began? Who was present when the bids were opened and discussed? What Minutes were kept for that bid-opening meeting? Did the bid-opening committee make a decision on a recommendation at that meeting?

When were bidders interviewed? Who was present at those interviews? Did the committee interview the bidders, or did the board? Will the bidders be present on October 3?

What was the integrity of the bid process up until August 8? Until September 5? Until October 3?

How many bids were received from credible HOA management companies?

I'm still worried about a comment I heard Justin make in 2022, when he said that no management companies other than CAMS would submit bids. As I recall his words, he said that no other management company would do business the way that the HOA wanted.

Those words were an immediate red flag for me. I wondered, "What did the HOA want that CAMS would do, but no other company would do?"
