Voting Members Needed - 4. 5? More?
The HOA has posted temporary signs at the entrances to several neighborhoods, advertising the need for Voting Members. It's about time.
For many months four neighborhoods have been without Voting Members: Autumn Glen(49), Indigo Springs(141), Pineclave(33), Waverly Place(264). The number in parentheses is the number of homes in that neighborhood, according to a list* furnished by the office in June 2024.
The total of unrepresented homes injust these four neighborhoods is 487, which is 19.6% of the HOA! Those homeowners have NO representation before the Board, and the Board hasn't exhibited much concern about that.
Maywood lost its "Voting Member" on November 12, 2024, when LaToya Adams was elected to the Board of Directors. Rumor has it that someone is collecting signatures on a form from the office to become Maywood's "Voting Member".
The Neighborhood Committee (of the HOA) has two meetings planned before the end of January. So far, there hasn't been any Summit-wide communication about these meetings. Will communication be given only to those four neighborhoods?
Reginald Mack's name first was published in the November 2024 Summit Scoop as the new chair of the (HOA's) Neighborhood Committee. The October 1st Minutes of the BOD Meeting state that Mack met with some of the Voting Members on September 14th. The Minutes for the September 10th BOD Meeting state that Mack announced a September 14th meet-and-greet with neighborhood reps "to collaborate and present ideas to BOD."
Maybe I missed it, but there doesn't seem to be any mention in Board Minutes of Mack's appointment as chair of the Neighborhood Committee.
Why aren't any committee members listed for this most-important committee?
All homeowners in The Summit should know the requirements for a homeowner to become a legitimate Voting Member. The Voting Member holds the legal authority to encumber you. This is why it is critical that the Voting Member be elected in compliance with the By-Laws.
Call the office. Ask what the requirements are to be a Voting Member. Ask how one becomes a Voting Member. (Let me know what they tell you. Use the Contact Form on this page. Your message will be seen by me only. No reference to you will ever be made without your permission.)
* That list was incorrect, because the number of homes oon the list totaled 2,595, which is 115 more than the number of homes in the HOA. A corrected list was requested but was never furnished to me.
