What Does It Mean - to Argue?
When I saw this today on a friend's Facebook page, I immediately thought of the board members of The Summit's HOA.
When smart people use the word "argue" as in "to argue a point of view", they mean "to have a serious discussion."
For six years I have found it impossible to have a serious discussion with almost everyone who has been a board member of the HOA.
I have seldom gotten a straight answer to anything; ex.,
- why people can't park in the streets;
- why documents haven't been posted online promptly (ex., the 2022 Annual Audit);
- why the Board is making decisions in secret pre-board meetings (ex., prohibiting guns at the Myrtle Pool or office);
- why there are no Minutes of the most-important meeting of the HOA each year - the Annual Meeting of Voting Members;
- why the Board recognizes people as Voting Members who are not duly-elected by their neighbors - as required in the By-Laws;
- why the Board did not hear the 2025 Budget in public;
- why the Board did not hear a request by the Finance Committee to increase the Annual Assessment by $50.00 in public;
- why the Board has never acknowledged the prohibited, unapproved lawsuit against Gus Philpott in an open, monthly, public board meeting.
