How HOA Treats Residents

Should the HOA, through its office staff, Directors, and Officers, treat all Summit Community homeowners and residents politely and with respect?

Am I the only resident who is treated disrespectfully and impolitely?

I "get it" that they don't like me. I'm not running in a popularity contest. For five years I have asked the HOA and its Boards tough questions about their failure to comply with their own Governing Documents (CC&Rs, By-Laws, PRM).

Apparently, my requests have hurt some feelings. Well, some people should grow up!

It didn't work when they tried to extort $265 out of me to inspect a copy of the 2022 Annual Report. Or $125/hour for Angela to baby-sit me while I read it in the office.

It didn't work when they blocked me from Zoom meetings.

It didn't work when former Board member and Treasurer Vernell Butler tried to block me from attending a monthly board meeting at the church.

It didn't work when Danny Trapp asked the HOA's attorney to send me a Cease and Desist Letter on August 28, 2024, threatening me with legal action for "making false accusations" and harassing the Association, its board members and representatives. The attorney refused to tell me what any "false accusations" were or in what way he believed I had harassed anyone.

It's unfortunate that the HOA and Directors have tried to make an enemy out of me.

It's also unfortunate that the South Carolina Attorney General won't stand up for the 2,480 homeowners in The Summit.

I am the one who wants the HOA to follow its own rules. That makes me the enemy.

So be it.
