BOD Candidate Interviews This Saturday
Candidates for election to the HOA's Board of Directors may be scheduled to be interviewed this Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The election will be Tuesday, November 11th, when the Annual Meeting of Voting Members is conducted prior to the start of the monthly Board Meeting (6:30PM).
There are at least seven applicants: Vernell Butler (Summit Hills V), Brenda Bryant (Fawn Ridge), Jeff Lummel (Founders Ridge), Linda Potter (Founders Ridge), Greg Thomas (Summit Hills), Danny Trapp (Hunters Pond), and Angelo Turley-Moore (Indigo Springs).
Butler was a Board Member and Treasurer until November 2024, when he quit in a huff after not being re-elected Treasurer by the Board.
Bryant and Potter are incumbent directors and deserve re-election.
Lummel is a past Board Member and Past President. He deserves election.
Greg Thomas was a Board Member and Secretary; he quit without public explanation right after he was re-elected in November 2024.
Turley-Moore has been attending Board meetings and speaking out about the HOA has been run. He deserves election.
Danny Trapp? He caused a lawsuit to be filed in December 2024 in the name of the Association but without the approval of the Board. The HOA has spent thousands of dollars on a lawsuit that the Board never approved. There are many reasons why Trapp should not be re-elected.
The chairperson of the Nominating Committee cannot prevent Voting Members from attending the interviews of candidates for Board positions.
The Procedures Reference Manual (Art. III, §H Nominating Committee Procedures, ¶7) reads in part, "Voting Members are encouraged to attend." The interviews are important to the decisions that Voting Members will make on November 11. If Voting Members are denied the privilege of attending the interviews of candidates, that denial may constitute Election Interference.
If Voting Members are being denied attendance, they should quickly contact the attorney for the HOA (Phone: 803/254-2200) and request that the chairperson of the Nominating Committee be properly instructed.
