Fly on the Wall at 10/7/25 BOD Meeting

I sure wish I could have been a fly on the wall at last night's Board meeting.

Did any of these items come up?

  • questions to the Board President about his request to the Church for it to prohibit three homeowners and one resident from attending Board meetings;
  • dropping the illegal and prohibited lawsuit against Gus Philpott (me);
  • illegal disbursements of HOA funds to the lawyers for the illegal lawsuit;
  • sanctions of Board President Danny Trapp for starting the lawsuit in violation of the CC&Rs (Art. XIII, §10 Litigation) and without the approval of the Board of Directors;
  • preview of the Proposed 2026 Budget;
  • status of the transition in management from CAMS to Town & Country;
  • the whereabouts of the 2024 Annual Audit;
  • the whereabouts of the 2023 forensic internal and external audits that cost the HOA $7,500;
  • who the vetted candidates are for the November 4, 2025 election of directors;
  • directions to Town & Country for properly certifying the legitimate Voting Members who will be eligible to attend the Annual Meeting of Voting Members;
  • the importance of complying with the CC&Rs, By-Laws, and published Guides of the HOA?
  • removal of Patricia Pollin, who was never eligible for appointment to the Board;
  • removal of "Treasurer" William Hill and "Secretary" Noel Weatherbee until such time as they can be duly-appointed to the Board and duly-elected as officers;
  • the rumor circulating that William Hill will resign from the Board;
  • statements by Vernell Butler that he expects to join the Board of Directors and become Treasurer. Have any "deals" been made?

Homeowners and Residents in The Summit can look forward to positive changes in how the HOA is run.  It's my feeling that homeowners (Members) and Residents will experience a new era of Respect that hasn't been here for a long time.  Allow your new Board a "honeymoon" period. Culver's Fans! Coming to Clemson Road

Culver's is coming to Columbia. The first Columbia-area restaurant is being built at 2744 Clemson Road. That's the northwest corner of Clemson Road and Longtown Road, right in front of Lexington Medical Center. Culver's has been one of my favorites since 1996 in Woodstock, Ill. Watch for opening. Mess-up with December 2nd Board Meeting

The December Board Meeting will be held tonight at 6:30PM in the HOA's office at 305 Ridge Trail Drive. Due to very limited space, tonight's meeting attendance will be limited to Board members and Voting Members. The Minutes of the November 18th Board Meeting have not been published yet, but apparently there was an attempt by some of the directors to change the Board Meeting frequency from monthly to not-less-than-quarterly. This is yet another reason why officers should have been elected at the first board meeting following the Annual Meeting of Voting Members, which was the Board Meeting on November 18th. This meeting-night mess would not have happened. It's hard enough to Members (homeowners) to know what is really going on with their HOA.
