Email Blast - Parking & Basketball Hoops

Of the many significant problems facing the HOA, why did the new Property Manager, Robert Williamson, send out an email blast to Members about parking and basketball hoops?

His October 23rd email led off with,

"During recent community compliance inspections, it has been observed that a number of properties are not adhering to the Association’s parking and exterior appearance regulations. Specifically, there has been an increasing trend of vehicles being improperly parked and basketball goals remaining visible when not in use."

Robert assumed the Property Manager role on October 1st. In just three weeks, he has had time to recognize an "increasing trend". What a miracle!

What is an "improperly parked" vehicle? Surely, that wouldn't mean a vehicle legally parked on a County-owned roadway in The Summit, would it?

Or does he mean one parked in a driveway blocking a public sidewalk? There are many of those, including right here in Barony Place II and at homes very near the HOA office, but they are parking in violation of County Ordinances and State law, not in violation of any section of the Governing Documents. Robert's attention should be limited to the latter.

Robert's hands ought to be full, addressing the major problems in The Summit; e.g.,
  • the dams,
  • ponds,
  • Clemson Road falls at the entrance,
  • a 2026 Budget based on a $50 annual increase in Assessment,
  • collecting $588,984.71 in Accounts Receivables (Line 1200),
  • publishing the 2024 Annual Audit,
  • publishing the 2023 forensic internal and external audits,
  • educating the Board of Directors on a much higher degree of compliance with the CC&Rs and By-Laws, and
  • educating the Board how to better conduct monthly Board Meetings in compliance with parliamentary procedure and Robert's Rules of Order.
Would he dare to take on those two last challenges?
