Will Voting Members Be Fully-Informed?

On November 12, 2024 the Annual Meeting of Voting Members of the Summit's HOA is scheduled to convene at 6:00PM.

The primary business of the Meeting is the election of three directors. Was any other business placed on the Agenda for the Meeting?

Will the Voting Members be informed that the Nominating Committee nominated only seven applicants for the board? And one of them has since withdrawn his name from consideration.

That leaves six nominees for election to three positions.

Upon information and belief, the ballot on Tuesday night will contain seven names.

The Voting Members should demand an explanation. How did the seventh name end up on the ballot?

The Nominating Committee is responsible for receiving applications, vetting the applicants, and selecting those it wishes to propose for election. The Nominating Committee may decide not to nominate a Candidate..." (PRM, Art, III, Section H(10))

A candidate not nominated can appeal to the Board of Directors (BOD). (PRM, Art, III, Section H(12)).

So, if the seventh candidate did appeal to the BOD, what did he say to persuade them to over-ride the decision of the Nominating Committee? Why did the BOD add him to the ballot? Did the Board meet in person to hear his complaint? Did the BOD document that meeting with Minutes? Are the Minutes on file with the office and available for inspection?

The BOD is elected by, accountable to, and can be removed and replaced by the Voting Members. The Voting Members represent you, the homeowners. Are they meeting their responsibilities and obligations to you?
