Homeowners - you are NOT represented

Homeowners in The Summit's HOA: Should you be represented before the Board of Directors?

You are probably aware that you never get to vote for Directors in the November elections. Right?

How do you get represented?

The By-Laws say that your Neighborhood Representative (a/k/a Voting Member) represents you and votes for Directors.

But does that happen?

Every one of the 28 Neighborhoods in the HOA is supposed to have an Annual Neighborhood Meeting; that means every year. At that meeting the homeowners hold an election in their own Neighborhoods. Three homeowners are to be elected to a Neighborhood Committee. They serve for one year. One of the three becomes the Voting Member.

What happens when those 28 Neighborhoods fail to hold the Annual Meetings, as required in the By-Laws? Then there are no Elections. No Neighborhood Committees are elected. No one become the Neighborhood Representative (Voting Member).

And YOU end up with no voice.

I explained to the HOA's attorney that Barony Place has not had an Annual Neighborhood Meeting in more than five years. The attorney has told me that the Board recognizes Billie Jones as the Voting Member.

The Board is wrong. Why won't the attorney tell the board that it is wrong?

There is no one to cast Barony Place's vote for a Director.

Aren't you concerned about that?
