HOA lies to homeowners in Sept. Scoop

The Summit Scoop was distributed by email today (September 6, 2023).

It was certainly nice to learn that the office closed early on September 1 and "will be closed" on Labor Day.

Be sure to read the "Dear Summit Homeowners" letter at the top right of Page 1.

So, where are the lies?

The biggest is in the fourth paragraph:
"Please rest assured that your engagement and involvement continue to be of utmost importance to us. You're understanding and cooperation as we realign our practices with the framework of our governing documents are greatly appreciated."

If your "engagement and involvement" were really important to the Board, they wouldn't close the Monthly Open Board Meetings.

"You're [sic] understanding and cooperation ... are greatly appreciated." Seriously? First, who wrote "You're"? For crying out loud! This newsletter is prepared for 2,480 homeowners.

But "understanding and involvement"? Why was I reminded immediately of Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Pol Pot, Chiang Kia-shek, Adolf Hitler, Gen. Masaharu Homma? "Step forward, folks. You'll love Siberia. No heat waves" and "You'll love the new meal plan of one small bowl of rice every three days" and "You'll enjoy the 65-mile walk (a/k/a Bataan Death March)".

Two Board members are upset with me. That's why they are closing the Open Board Meetings. I've been asking too many hard questions for too long.

Rather than repeating Justin Martin's rant on nextdoor.com just click over to my August 24, 2023 blogpostThis is why the Board is closing the Open Meetings.

If you were at the August 8, 2023 board meeting, you know that I was not disruptive. I made no outbursts. On nextdoor.com Justin wrote: "So, good job in making us close the meeting so we can actually get the business of Board completed."

No, Justin, I did not make you close the Board meetings. You did that.

As I've written many times, if the Board would just comply with the By-Laws, they would never hear a peep out of me. I would be happy to write about all the good things that the Board is doing. Hmmm......nothing comes to mind.
