Father/Son Bowling - Mis-Use of HOA Funds?

A post on Facebook advertises the HOA's Father and Son Bowling Day on June 14.

Free for "Summit residents". Is that free for homeowners only or free for any residents of The Summit?  The Facebook post mentions that only "20 people" can attend which, the post reads, was announced at the board meeting last night. Is that 10 fathers and 10 sons? Could an 80-year-old father take his 60-year-old son?

Good thing that was announced at the "small" Board meeting last night that did not allow homeowners to attend. Would a restriction of 20 have resulted in an outcry of objection? Oh, horrors. Somebody might have disagreed with some position of the Association.

Is such an event, limited to a small number of Summit residents (there are 2,480 properties), a mis-use of Summit HOA funds, if any HOA funds are being spent?

What if a father has a daughter, but no son? Can he take his daughter?

And what about the Mother and Daughter event that was recently held? Could a mother attend with her son(s)? Or an adult son attend with his mother?

How will the "20 people" be selected? First come, first served? A lottery?

The event was announced on Page 1 of the May 2025 Summit Scoop, which was emailed to many homeowners and some residents on May 8 but never posted on the HOA's website. There was no attendance restriction, no reservation request, or cost information in The Scoop.

Did the HOA organizer just schedule it? Is there any cost to the HOA?
