Two Board Vacancies Announced
In an email from the office today, the Property Manager for the HOA (not the Board of Directors or the President) made this announcement:
There are currently two open vacancies on the Summit Board of Directors. If you are interested in serving your community and helping shape its future, we encourage you to apply. Please complete the Board Member Application by clicking the link below and return the completed form to the Summit Association office:The deadline to submit applications is Friday, June 20th at 5:00 PM.
Candidates are to be vetted by the Association Office (by the Property Manager?) (PRM, Art. III, §H, ¶6 (Page 23), which is to verify that each potential candidate is in good standing with the Association and is a resident of the Association before accepting the application.
Several basic questions are not asked on the application:
- Are you a homeowner in The Summit (HOA)?
- If not, are you married to a homeowner?
- Are you financially indebted to the Association?
- If not, have you at any time been financially indebted to the Association?
- Are you in Good Standing with the Association?
- Is your reputation of the highest caliber?
- Do you have strong inter-personal skills?
- If you are appointed, will you serve free of any personal agenda?
- Are you bondable?
There should be three (3) vacancies on the Board. On June 3rd the Board apparently did not ask the ineligible director to resign or vote to remove that director. That director was not eligible to be appointed in December 2023.
The application can be found in the PRM on Page 33.
