Contact your "recognized Voting Member" and ask him/her to elect only directors who are  of the highest caliber,   selected for interpersonal skills, dedicat(ed) to the betterment of our Association and community, and  free of any personal agenda. She was elected to the Board on November 7, 2023. Linda served as Board Treasurer from November 2023 to November 2024.  For the most part, Linda's participation in Board meetings was to present motions for items for which the Board had to authorize spending. As I recall, she played an important role in moving HOA funds from low-interest accounts (0.05% and 0.75%) to market-rate interest, substantially increasing the interest earnings on that money. M.H.G.A. - Make HOA Great Again!

Homeowners and Residents in The Summit can look forward to positive changes in how the HOA is run.  It's my feeling that homeowners (Members) and Residents will experience a new era of Respect that hasn't been here for a long time.  Allow your new Board a "honeymoon" period. The new leadership of the Association (meaning the officers on the Board of Directors) will be hard at work to get a handle on everything that is wrong and to begin fixing it. It won't happen overnight. Be sure to welcome Brenda Bryant, Jeff Lummel, Linda Potter, and Angelo Turley-Moore to their new roles as President, Vice-President, Treasurer,  and Secretary, respectively. About Fines in The Summit's HOA

Do you bother to inspect the Budget when it is proposed for the following year? Do you ever examine the monthly financial reports of the HOA? How much do you think the HOA will collect in fines this year? How much do you think the HOA collected in Fines last year? The Line in the Budget that you'll want to look at is Line 4600 Fines - Violations. Sitting down? In 2024 the HOA collected $57,446.91 in Fines. The amount budgeted in 2024 was $20,000. In 2025 the HOA expects to collect $50,000. As of June 30, 2025 the HOA has collected $38,670. At this pace the HOA will collect $77,340 in the full year, or $27,340 (55%) more than estimated in the Budget. Why are fines running so high? Should the Board just grin and rub their hands together in glee, or should the Board create an ad hoc Committee to examine the Fines category and determine what can be done to reduce the penalties on its Members?
